SEAN'S BASEMENT
"Growing up I didn't listen to music in the way most 2000s kids did. CDs and mp3s were still a part of my life, but my dad taught me early how to use the turntable in our basement to listen to his own collection. Eventually that turntable broke down and the basement stopped being a place I spent much time in. This was until one Christmas four years ago when my dad decided to surprise me with a brand new one. At first I thought I'd just buy a few of my favourite albums, but I never would've thought I'd end up discovering way more music than I ever did before just by getting my foot in the door with vinyl collecting again. My collection sits at around 300 pieces now and keeps growing, and to me it's like my own personal archive of music that I identify closely with. This is why no matter whether it's a brand new album or an old one handed down from someone in my family, one that's easy to find or an ultra rarity, I care for them the same way. I feel like my entire life's story can be traced through the albums I love." - Sean
